The Audition for Battle of The Bands contest has been scheduled for the 5th July 09. There are 8 bands going through the audition.The main event will be held on the 26th July 2009 at Home Bar in Darling Harbour. 

Audition Date -5/07/2009 SUNDAY
Main Event: 26/07/2009 Sunday

Start Sharp -12pm till 4pm.

The times for the audition are as follows 

1. Ahimsa Band - 12 pm

2. Brand New Addiction – 12:30pm

3. Flemington Project – 1pm

4. Mokshy Band – 1:30pm

5. Naya Naam-2pm

6. Parikrama Band-2:30pm  

7. Shaastra Band-3pm

8. U-Turn Band-3:30pm

Following is the criteria each band must follow at the audition on 5^th July 2009.

1. A total time on 25 minutes is given to each band for the audition, which include set-ups and performances.

2. Each band is required 10 minutes early at the chosen location, 37 Louise Street, Granville prior to the starting time of the audition.

3. Each band is to bring their own gears (guitars, effect pedals, etc). Drums and microphones are provided at the audition.

4. Each band is to perform three(3) songs at the audition:

   - Original song (your own composition)

   Lyrics must be submitted to the organizing committee at the audition, prior to performing the song.

   - Judges' choice (Mann Ta Mero Nepali Ho – 1974 AD)

   Each band is to perform this song in your own version.

   - Your choice (Any Nepali song you are comfortable to play)

   Each band is to perform acoustic version (vocal and guitar only) of the song they choose to play during the audition. *Acoustic version is applicable only during the audition.

5. Selected bands will be notified within working 3 days after the audition.

Helpful Tips for the Participating Bands:

Our judges will be making the participating bands based on the factors (but not limited to) listed below:

Musical Complexity- Do you know what you are playing? ( Instruments/singing techniques)

Originality- Style of playing / how you perform?

Song Pattern- Chorus, Verse, Chorus, verse etc...

Musical Tightness- Ability to perform as a team / the punch of the instruments sound.

Crowd Involvement- Is the crowd excited by the music they play?

Style- Why you wear VS what genre you play?

Music Genre- What is your genre? Do you follow your genre?

Please be advised that each band participating will be interviewed during the process of audition on 5^th July 2009. Pictures will also be taken for promotional uses.
