Changes to student visa - from 1 January 2010
CHANGES TO STUDENT VISA LIVING COSTS AND EVIDENCE OF FUNDS - FROM 1 JANUARY 2010
Thinking of applying for a student Visa in Sydney?
As of 1 January 2010, International students are now required to show that they are accessible to sufficient funds to be able to receive a student visa grant.
These changes will affect all applications lodged on or after 1 January 2010.

VISA APPLICATION CHARGE EXEMPTIONS FOR STUDENTS AFFECTED BY AN EDUCATION PROVIDER CLOSURE
From 1 January 2010, international students whose education provider has closed on or after 1 January, may be exempt from paying the visa application charge for a further Student visa application. This change applies to those students who need to apply for a further Student visa to complete their studies at a new ins***ution.
International students who were affected by the closure of their education provider in 2009 and who need to apply for a new Student visa to continue their studies, may be eligible to request a refund of the visa application charge for that application.

2008 Cup winners (Gorkha Boys Football Club) off with a winning start for this season. GBFC who were the Gorkha Shield winners for the 2008 season have kicked started the 2009 season with a 1-0 win against The Recreational Club. The team captain Bijen Bataju informed kgarira.com that initially their team moral was not at 100%. This win against the much talked about team for this season, The Recreational Club has certainly provided them with much needed moral booster to get into the tournament.
