Immigration News update from 4Nations International

Dear valued customers and collegues,
Greetings from down under!

Belated Happy Deepawali for those of you who celebrate!

With lot of anxiety and curiosity amongst the masses of international students in Australia and the migration applicants within and outside Australia waiting to hear about their visa applications finalised, thought, these updates could be of some relief.

The gist of the message is, "Australia has not closed the door for migration altogether. rather, it has decided to be more of a need based approach in short, medium and longer term. The newly announced Skilled Occupation List - Schedule 3 has replaced the Critical Shortage List, As a result, many occupations in that list including accounting applicants have seen their applications finalised in recent months. There are many applications yet to be finalised despite being in the schedule 3.

-
Non Priority Occupations such as Cooks and Hairdressers still to take extra time for processing

Under the current ministerial direction in force, the not in priority occupations such as Cooks and Hairdressers will still take time to be processed. That is because the applications with priority occupations are processed earlier despite them being lodged at later date.

Nepal Festival 2010 -Sydney

Nepal Festival 2010 -Sydney- was held on the 4th September 2010 at Darling Harbor. This event was jointly organized by NRN Australia, the Nepalese Embassy, Canberra and the Nepalese Community ***ociations in NSW & Victoria. Nepal Festival 2010 is part of NRN Australia .

The estimated crowd for the event was roughly around 40,000 guests. The event was free for all to enjoy. There were food stalls selling our most beloved food, “The MO:MO”, “Sel-Roti”, Choela and the lot. I tried the MO:MO from the “Gorkha Palace” stall and I enjoyed every bite of my portion. Besides food stalls, there were other local Nepalese businesses promoting their business from their stalls. I roughly counted about 35stalls in the venue.

Bepin Shrestha - a young life shattered by an act of violence

TAKING up all three rows on the left side of the courtroom, there is love.

The mother, her dark hair pulled back, dabs her eyes with a wet tissue.

Her weeping started many days ago and has not stopped.

Nearby, her sister also dabs at eyes, angry and red. Around them are nieces and nephews, a young girl in a blue dress, restless to play.

Among them sits an uncle, his head up and a look of quiet acceptance here in Courtroom One at Central Local Court.

The uncle is Alfred Palu, a reverend minister with the Anglican Church visiting from New Zealand.

Some weeks ago Mr Palu sat with ministers from the Cecile Gribble Congregation at Dee Why talking about how they could take the church choir into the jails.

His nephew is in the choir.
